The easiest way to find the number on a number line is to first multiply and then use it as a mixed number. Mixed numbers are generally easier to place on a number line than multiplication or improper fractions. 

4 * 2/5 = 8/5 = 1 and 3/5

Since we have the mixed number of 1 and 3/5 we know we can go just past halfway between 1 and 2 on the number line.
