Question
Answer:
1. Firstly a cone and cylinder have a circular base themselves, therefor if you imagined slicing them in half (horizontally), the resulting solid object would have a circular base. A sphere is the same, if you imagine slicing it in half you'd end up with two hemispheres, each of which would have a circular base. Now a prism is generally defined by a triangular, rectangular, or other base but nothing that is circular, thus C is the correct answer.

2. If we look at shape P and compare it to Q we can see that it needs to be reflected as it is facing in the opposite direction. We know it has to be a reflection in the y-axis as this would flip the shape to the left (imagine the y-axis as a fold in a bit of paper and if shape P had some paint on it, when you folded the paper and then unfolded it, it would appear to the left of the fold but as the same shape as Q).
Now we can see that the base of P would still be at y = 2. The base of Q is at y = -5. Thus to make the base of P level with the base of Q we must move or translate it seven units down (2 - (-5) = 7). Thus the answer is C.
